ROOTED 2 RISE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
The Reggae Girlz Foundation (RGF) is a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to inspire, educate, mobilize and support the next generation of young female football players in underserved communities. Through our initiatives, we strive to level the playing field and create more opportunities, access, and visibility for young women in the sport of football.
RGF offers three (3) “Rooted2Rise” scholarships annually to female football student athletes. Applicants must be enrolled at the time of award receipt.
The RGF “Golden Crust” Scholarship

Two (2) $500 USD scholarships will be awarded to a current high school junior or senior student athlete with a “B” average, who intends to attend college/university.

One (1) $1,000 USD scholarship will be awarded to an incoming college Freshman student athlete with an official acceptance letter to an accredited two (2) or four (4) year accredited college / university.
The RGF “Tarania Clarke” Scholarship

One (1) $1000 USD scholarship will be awarded to an incoming college Freshman student athlete with an official acceptance letter to an accredited two or four year accredited college /university.
The RGF “ Jean Nelson” Scholarship

One (1) $1000 USD scholarship will be awarded to a collegiate student athlete currently enrolled in an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college/university, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale unweighted.
Only completed applications submitted by midnight (EST) on the application deadline will be considered. Late applications will not be considered. No exceptions. Applicants may apply for all scholarships for which they qualify, but can only be awarded one (1) scholarship each year.

Scholarship Program Guidelines: All scholarship applicants must:
- Be a current student athlete who demonstrates leadership, dedication, and character with their club, school and community.
- Be of Jamaican descent (birth or naturalization)
- Submit the following to be considered for an award:
- Completed RGF Scholarship Application submitted by midnight on the application deadline
- Cover letter that outlines the financial need and how scholarship award will be utilized.
- Minimum 250 word Essay
- Letter of Recommendation from Club / School Coach or Principal in support of financial need
- Current School Transcript
- Headshot Photo
